Volunteer Information

There are  many opportunities to volunteer your time and talent at the New Jersey Institute for Disabilities.  Due to the nature of NJID programs, group volunteer participation is especially encouraged.  Corporate teams and well supervised student groups (ages 16 and older) are welcome.

Here are some ways to help:

Helping Hands at Lakeview School
(Lakeview School, Edison, NJ)
  • Assist students with special projects
  • Participate in Field Day activities
  • Share seasonal and special celebration activities
Spruce it Up!
(Various facilities in Middlesex, Somerset, Monmouth & Ocean Counties)
  • Help with light landscaping, flower planting and garden maintenance
Crafts & Creativity with Adult Clients
(Various programs in Middlesex & Ocean Counties)
  • Help clients with special projects
  • Share seasonal and special celebration activities
  • Assist with special program events: shows, field trips, dances and luncheons
  • Participate in Field Day activities
Put the FUN in Fund Raising!
(Edison, NJ)
Have a blast at the Annual Lakeview 5K (always the first Saturday of June) by helping with:
  • Water tables
  • Registration tables
  • Course marshalls
  • Set up & bag stuffing (week before)
  • Set up a corporate team
  • Crowdfunding
