Corporate Compliance

The New Jersey Institute for Disabilities is dedicated to conducting business lawfully and ethically. Thus, anyone who is aware of any violation, question, incident or situation is invited to make a report to NJID's Corporate Compliance Officer, Kathie Joyce-Medvitz, at (732) 590-1948.

There will be no adverse action or retribution against anyone for reporting a suspected violation or irregularity. Such reporting is protected by federal and state laws as well as the policy of the New Jersey Institute for Disabilities.


Title VI Compliance

The New Jersey Institute for Disabilities is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from or denied the benefits of services on the basis of race, color, creed, sexual orientation or national origin as protected by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended.  Persons who believe that they have individually or as a member of any specific class of persons been subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, sexual orientation or national origin, may file a complaint in writing to the New Jersey Institute for Disabilities. Transportation services provided by NJID are in part-funded through federal funds received through NJ Transit.  Individuals have the right to file a complaint within 180 days of an alleged discrimination under Title VI to NJ Transit by writing to:

ADA Compliance

The New Jersey Institute for Disabilities is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in or denied the benefits of its services on the basis on their disability as provided by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

NJID management, and all supervisors and employees share direct responsibility for carrying out NJID’s commitment to the ADA.  The NJID Corporate Compliance Officer ensures accountability in this commitment, and supports all parts of the organization in meeting their respective ADA obligations.  The NJID Corporate Compliance Officer coordinates internally with all appropriate offices in the investigation of complaints of discrimination, and takes a lead role in responding to requests for information about NJID’s civil rights obligations and operations.

Transportation Reasonable Modification

The New Jersey Institute for Disabilities Division of Transportation will make a reasonable attempt to provide additional assistance requested by any passengers with disabilities so as long as the request does not present a direct threat of safety to the passenger(s) and/or the Agency employee and/or the request does not alter the fundamental transportation services provided by NJID.

To make a “Reasonable Modification” request you must call Dwayne Franklin, Transportation Coordinator, at (732) 549-6187 Extension 1801.
