The Adaptive Seating and Equipment Center at Lakeview School offers state of the art evaluation technology and simulators to assure that the most appropriate mobility devices and seating systems are designed to meet the unique needs of each student for use at school, home and in the community.
Established in 1982 as the first program of its kind in New Jersey, the Center also provides assistance and guidance to parents in navigating third party payment systems such as medical insurances and government benefits.
Program Highlights
Provides assessment and consultation services to the students of Lakeview School to determine the appropriateness of seating systems and adaptive equipment
Incorporates a team model approach at each clinical evaluation to ensure that the equipment prescribed and ordered for each student corresponds with individual IEP goals.
Offers to families training in mobility systems, home care equipment and environment accessibility
Makes adaptations and fabrications of daily living aids and devices
Loans to families at no cost specialized equipment such as strollers, wheelchairs, standers and bathing equipment
